-- A fire broke out at a warehouse of Gafo Nutrition Food Joint Stock Company in northern Hai Duong Province on Tuesday afternoon, causing no casualties but serious property damage.

-- Authorities in Dong Thap Province, located in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta region, are planning to convince farmers to grow organic rice plants in a local natural conservation area for cranes as the number of the birds migrating to the locality has decreased dramatically in recent years due to negative human impacts. 

-- Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang has urged police to investigate the unusually high prices of materials for a section of the North-South Expressway project in south-central Phu Yen Province.

-- About 37,900 enterprises were either newly registered or reopened in Vietnam in January and February, down 11.2 percent over the same period last year, according to the General Statistics Office.

-- Hong Kong's flagship carrier Cathay Pacific Airways has announced an offer of 80,000 free return flight tickets to people in Southeast Asian countries from Wednesday, including 8,800 slots for Vietnamese passengers, as part of a campaign to boost tourism.
