General Phan Van Giang, Vietnam’s Minister of National Defense, recently inspected a joint rehearsal involving more than 5,200 military personnel in preparation for the upcoming national parade marking the 50th anniversary of the liberation of southern Vietnam and National Reunification Day (April 30).
The rehearsal, held on March 25 in suburban Hanoi, gathered units from four major military regions, including the National Military Training Center No.4, Military Zone 5, Military Zone 7, and Corps 34.
General Giang noted with pride that this anniversary is not only celebrated by the Vietnamese people but also honored by international friends.
He revealed that military units from countries that supported Vietnam during the war have requested to join the Vietnam People’s Army in this meaningful parade.
"This joy belongs not only to Vietnam and its heroic army but also to peace-loving people around the world," said the General.
He expressed gratitude for the continued support from international friends, emphasizing the enduring solidarity even after half a century of peace.
Observing the rehearsal, the top defense official expressed pride in the synchronized movements of the soldiers, describing them as a living embodiment of the strength and unity of Vietnam’s armed forces.
He urged the participants to carry the same discipline, spirit, and confidence into the official parade and all future missions.
Military leaders also provided feedback during the rehearsal, encouraging teams to self-correct, support each other, and continuously improve performance.
General Giang praised the coordinated performance of all units involved -- from marching formations and flag-bearing groups to military musicians.
He emphasized the importance of discipline and attention to detail in all aspects, from uniforms to equipment, stressing that nothing must go wrong during the official ceremony.
