Ho Chi Minh City Open 2024, an international pool tournament, will kick off at Ho Xuan Huong Indoor Stadium in District 3 on September 25, offering a total prize pool of US$110,000.
The billiards tourney is scheduled to last until September 29.
Ho Chi Minh City Open, hosted by the Ho Chi Minh City Billiards & Snooker Federation, is a top-notch international pool championship in Vietnam and is recognized by the World Pool Association and the Asian Confederation of Billiard Sports.
The tourney will feature the participation of both local and international pool players.
The winner of the final round will receive $35,000, while the runner-up will be awarded $13,000.
The third prize will stand at $5,000. The rest of the top eight pool players will each receive $3,000.
An award of $1,600 will be given to each of the 16 best pool players.
The top 32 finalists will receive $800 each.
The elimination round of Ho Chi Minh City Open 2024 will take place from September 20 to 23.
The round will name the 32 best pool players among 128 contestants to enter the final round.
The elimination round will also offer $5,000 to the winner and $2,000 to the runner-up.
“Ho Chi Minh City Open 2024 will act as a high-level playground, and back the Vietnamese billiards growth in the coming time,” said Nguyen Van Tri, chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Billiards & Snooker Federation.
“The tournament will give a chance for local pool players to compete with international rivals, enabling them to accumulate experience in competition."
