Vietnamese budget carrier VietJet Air (VJA) has signed an agreement with BNP Paribas in which the international bank will be in charge of managing the financing for VJA’s three first aircraft that the company ordered in September
The agreement, which is valued at around US$800 mln and includes technical and maintenance services, was signed on the morning of December 16 during the visit of US Secretary of State John Kerry to Vietnam. The engines will be used for 100 aircrafts that VJA ordered in September
“We were really surprised upon receiving 5,000 yen (US$500) as compensation money just because the carrier delayed the flight,” expressed Hai Ngoc, a passenger who was on the All Nippon Airways (ANA) flight from Japan to Ho Chi Minh City.
As planned, the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines will launch its IPO in the second half of 2014, after the 2012 IPO plan was delayed twice.
Vietnamese budget carrier VietJet Air is opening four more routes, offering 12,600 seats per week for customers, while state-owned national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines is increasing flights on 10 domestic tourism routes to meet high demand
VJA’s deputy general manager have met with the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam on the improvement of chasing bird work at the local airports
The Vietnamese budget carrier will operate 7 two-way weekly flights on the newly opened route in an effort to gain a bigger share in Thailand with the recent plan to establish Thai VietJet Air joint venture
