Local carriers add more flights to meet high demand

Vietnamese budget carrier VietJet Air is opening four more routes, offering 12,600 seats per week for customers, while state-owned national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines is increasing flights on 10 domestic tourism routes to meet high demand.

VietJet Air will offer two weekly return flights on its Ho Chi Minh City – Hue route starting from September 20th. Three other routes, including Hanoi – Buon Ma Thuot, Hanoi – Hue and Ho Chi Minh City – Quy Nhon, will begin from October and November with one flight per week.

Meanwhile, additional flights will be made between August 30 and September 3 by Vietnam Airlines on 10 routes including Hanoi – HCMC, Hanoi/HCMC – Dong Hoi/Da Nang/Nha Trang/Phu Quoc, and HCMC – Da Lat.

Flights from Hanoi – Dong Hoi – Hanoi, Hanoi – Phu Quoc – Hanoi, HCMC – Dong Hoi – HCMC and HCMC – Nha Trang – HCMC will be increased by 70 to 100 percent during the National Day holiday compared to normal days.

Phung Thi Ly Ha, deputy head of the Hanoi Train Station, says the Hanoi Passenger Railway Transportation Co will increase eight trains on routes which are expected to receive higher number of passengers over the upcoming holiday.

The Hanoi Bus One-Member Co Ltd plans to add 190 buses during the National Day holiday. Specifically, there will be 80 more buses added to Giap Bat bus station, 85 at My Dinh bus station and 25 at Gia Lam bus station. These extra buses will primarily serve routes with distances of 300km or less.
