Vietnam’s CPI inches up

The country’s consumer price index (CPI) in October surged 0.49 percent from September, according to a report issued by General Statistics Office of Vietnam.

With the recently announced CPI data, the country’s inflation indicator soared 5.92 percent over the same period last year and 5.14 percent compared with December 2012.

Accordingly, among 11 groups of products and services in the CPI basket, the group of hospitality services had a price increase of 0.86 percent. The price of housing- electricity-fuel-construction materials increased 0.5 percent while the price of educational services went up by 0.53 percent.
