22 countries join int’l tourism fair in Vietnam

A host of travel companies from 22 countries and territories have registered to participate in the 2nd Vietnam International Travel Mart, set to run in Hanoi from April 3 to 6.

The exhibit, to take place from tomorrow at Giang Vo Exhibition Center at 148 Giang Vo Street, Ba Dinh District, has so far secured the registration of 508 stalls, including 154 from such countries as Japan, the Republic of Korea, China, Russia, Germany, France, and Australia.

Participants will showcase their tourism products and services at the four-day event, which aims to promote the tourism industry through inbound and outbound tours.

A conference, four international seminars and a forum, which focus on responsible, sustainable tourism development and tourism trademark locations, will also be organized during the event.

The forum will feature exchanges between the public, tourism insiders and former Vietnam Tourism Ambassador Ly Nha Ky, as well as candidates for this year’s Ambassador position, beauties Dieu Han and Ngoc Han, actress Lan Phuong and English teacher Hong Thuan.

Veteran Chinese actor Liu Xiao Ling Tong, widely known for his leading role in the classic Chinese TV drama “Xi You Ji” (Journey to the West), will also turn up at the exchanges, which are slated to go on from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on April 6.

The Vietnam International Travel Mart was first held from April 18 to 21 last year, with the participation of 368 booths of 401 companies and organizations from 18 countries.
