In a CEO virtual fireside chat at the event, Altman and Bui Hai Hung, CEO of VinAI, a Vietnamese AI research-based company, explored various topics, including OpenAI’s global expansion, the importance of AI security, and the commitment to collaboration and open-source technologies.
Altman shared thoughts on working with startups in Vietnam, acknowledging the complexity of leadership changes at OpenAI without delving into specifics.
Expressing gratitude to colleagues, he emphasized OpenAI’s significance and its dedication to supporting open-source projects.
Addressing OpenAI’s role in Vietnam, Altman acknowledged challenges due to diverse political and cultural environments but he expressed optimism about AI’s potential to bridge societal gaps with appropriate regulation.
Regarding collaboration opportunities, he recognized Vietnam’s potential in the AI field and aired a willingness to contribute.
Throughout the dialogue, Altman’s personal touch also surfaced as he revealed a genuine liking for Vietnamese banh mi, considering it a regular part of his meals, showcasing a connection beyond the realm of technology.
