30 landscapes depicting Hue, Vietnam’s former imperial capital, are on exhibit in one of the city’s mausoleums from May 12, introducing the picturesque beauty of this city to tourists.
The exhibition, called “The marks of time”, will run from now to May 17 at the magnificent mausoleum of King Tu Duc (whose 1847-1883 reign was the fourth of the Nguyen dynasty, the country’s last monarchs), who was also an accomplished poet.
The 30 works, which come in a wide variety including oil, acrylic, pencil and iron pen paintings, were created by 15 artists at a camp held three days earlier.
At the exhibit, tourists and even locals were mesmerized by the various styles, emotions and angles the artists adopt in portraying the Khiem Lang, as the mausoleum is also known, which is considered one of the Nguyen dynasty’s most resplendent mausoleums.
The exhibition will continue at the Museum of Hue Court Antiques on Le Truc street after May 17.
