Vietnamese documentary “Mieng Trau La Dau Cau Chuyen” (The Betel Begins the Conversation) and the online film festival YxineFF have recently received funding from the International Documentary Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) Bertha Fund.

According to YxineFF, it will receive EUR10,000.

“This is the first time Yxine has been supported by a prestigious organization like IDFA Bertha Fund. The support is precious to us since we’re launching a project focusing on documentaries,” Vu Quynh Ha, representative of YxineFF stated on the festival’s website.

Thsi year, the IDFA Bertha Fund considered around 330 projects from more than 40 different countries. In total, an amount of €209.000 was granted to 13 documentary projects and five documentary festivals.

Aiming to help documentary practitioners in developing countries to find their own unique voice, IDFA Bertha Fund not only provides financial support to realize this endeavor, but plays a crucial advisory role as well.

Over the past 15 years, it has supported more than 500 projects.

In related news, Vietnamese movie “Cha, con va...” (Father, son and…) by director Phan Dang Di will also be funded EUR40,000 by the World Cinema Fund (WCF), the foundation announced on July 2.
