37-year-old Le Hai Binh, the deputy spokesman of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has been appointed its spokesman.
The appointment was signed by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh on February 8.
Also under the decision, Binh, who started working for the ministry in 2000, will work as acting director of the Press and Information Department of the ministry.
Binh, 37, is the youngest-ever spokesman of the ministry.
Before taking the new role, Binh had been Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Policy and Secretary to the Deputy PM and Foreign Minister since December 2008.
State President Truong Tan Sang had previously appointed the former spokesperson Luong Thanh Nghi as ambassador to Australia, Vanuatu, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, and Solomon Islands.
