Vietnamese State President Vo Van Thuong, his South Korean counterpart Yoon Suk Yeol, and their spouses went for a stroll around Hoan Kiem Lake, one of the famous landmarks in Hanoi, after enjoying breakfast together at nearby Luc Thuy Restaurant on Saturday morning.

The two leaders and their spouses savored phở (Vietnamese noodle dish served with hot broth cooked from beef or chicken), bánh xu xê (a Vietnamese dessert made from rice flour, tapioca with mung bean paste filling), seedless lychees, and drank cà phê sữa đá (iced coffee mixed with sweet condensed milk).

President Yoon arrived in Vietnam on Thursday, beginning his three-day official state visit to the Southeast Asian country at the invitation of President Thuong.

He was welcomed with a 21-gun salute at a state-level ceremony hosted by his Vietnamese counterpart at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi on Friday morning.

During their talks, President Thuong affirmed that Vietnam and South Korea will accompany each other on a new journey as good friends and partners.

President Yoon underlined that over the past three decades, the two countries have treated each other with great respect, adding that Vietnam has remained a key partner of South Korea in Asia.

The top South Korean official expressed his desire that both sides will continue supporting each other to advance further and develop their bilateral relationship into a role model in international relations, as well as jointly strive toward peace, cooperation, and prosperity.​
