Foreign delegations pay homage to Vietnam’s Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong

Foreign delegations pay homage to Vietnam’s Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong

Many delegations from other countries, territories, and international organizations paid tribute to General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong at the National Funeral Hall at No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong Street in Hanoi and the Reunification Palace in Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday morning.

The Party chief passed away at 1:38 pm on July 19 at the age of 80 at 108 Military Central Hospital in Hanoi despite the efforts of leading doctors and healthcare experts to treat his age-related serious illness.

A two-day state funeral for him began on Thursday morning with the respect-paying ceremony starting at 7:00 am.

The respect-paying ceremony at the National Funeral Hall lasted until 10:00 pm on July 25 and continues from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm on July 26.

It will be followed by a memorial service at 1:00 pm on July 26.

A burial service for the Party chief will take place from 3:00 pm on the same day at Mai Dich Cemetery in Hanoi.

At the same time, respect-paying and memorial ceremonies for the Party leader will also be held at the Reunification Hall in Ho Chi Minh City and his hometown – Dong Hoi Commune, Dong Anh District, Hanoi.
