A local man was decapitated after a quarrel with three others turned violent in the northern Vietnamese province of Vinh Phuc on Monday night.
The incident occurred at around 9:00 pm in Binh Xuyen District in Vinh Phuc, 50km north of Hanoi, Vietnamnet reported.
The victim, 26-year-old Nguyen Minh Toan, had been involved in an altercation with three other men at a local eatery, before running for his life once the quarrel turned violent.
One of the three caught Toan and eventually managed to cut off his head, reportedly with a machete.
The blood-stained blade was found on a tricycle motorbike near the scene of the murder after all three attackers had fled.
According to eyewitnesses, Toan appeared to have borrowed money from the men and the violence sparked when he was asked to pay his debt.
Vinh Phuc police are hunting for the men involved.
