The Ho Chi Minh City border guard unit has received two new patrol boats and 10 speedboats designed to further facilitate their missions.
The municipal administration on Sunday transferred the two patrol boats CN09, which can also perform search and rescue missions, and the 10 speedboats to the border guard officers.
Among them, the steel-hull CN09 is the most modern type of ship that the municipal border guard unit has had so far.
Measuring 30 meters long, 6.7 meters wide, and 3.6 meters high, the boat is equipped with two main engines, a hydraulic power steering system, along with both manual and autopilot controls.

The maximum operating time of the CN09 is 10 days at the speed of nine to ten nautical miles per hour.
It can rescue up to 25 people at a time, while towing fishing boats weighing up to 3,000 metric tons.

The chairman also tasked the border guard unit with carrying out regular inspection and maintenance to keep the ships in their best conditions.
