Two women and a young child who were family members were killed after a fire broke out at their home in Ho Chi Minh City on early Saturday morning.
The deadly incident occurred at around 1:30 am at a house on Vo Thi Nho Street in Tan Thuan Dong Ward, District 7, according to preliminary reports.
The three victims were N.T.N.D., 45, N.T.M.H. – D.’s 41-year-old sister, and N.M.T. – H.’s two-year-old daughter.

The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, Cao Quoc Binh, the ward chairman, stated, adding that the couch on the first floor was the first to catch fire.
The flames then spread to a motorbike and quickly spiraled out of control, while the victims were still asleep on the entresol.
Some local residents noticed the fire and tried to wake up the people inside, but they could not reach them as the house was securely locked.

Firefighting officers later arrived at the location and forced open the door, but the three family members had already died on their beds, with smoke inhalation suspected to be the cause of death.
Local authorities have provided financial support for the victims’ family to organize their funeral.
