Police in the southern province of Dong Nai have arrested about 10 members of a debt collection gang after they were caught red-handed threatening the director of a local hospital, who was one of the debtors.
The provincial Department of Police apprehended them on Saturday night and early Sunday morning, under the directions of Colonel Vu Hong Van, the department’s director.
At least eight men and two women have been taken into custody so far.
At around 7:30 pm on Saturday, many members of the group were caught threatening Nguyen The Thu, director of Tam Hong Phuoc Hospital, at his office in the provincial capital of Bien Hoa.
Officers arrived captured the suspects at the infirmary before expanding their investigation and hunting for the remaining gang members.

Dr. Thu has also been summoned for a working session to assist the investigation.
A probe by Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper showed that the doctor has been owing money to many people as well as local loan sharks due to financial difficulties at his hospital.
