Thirty-one COVID-19 patients at Hoa Vang Field Hospital in Da Nang were given the all-clear and discharged on Wednesday afternoon, a record number of recoveries announced on the same day in the coastal city since July.
Among the 31 recoveries were patients with chronic kidney diseases requiring dialysis, the field hospital said.
The youngest patient released on Wednesday was a two-month-old baby residing in Cam Le District, Da Nang.
The infant was admitted to the hospital on August 15 after being confirmed to catch COVID-19 from his mother.
Wednesday marked the largest number of patients eligible for discharge since the latest outbreak emerged in Da Nang on July 25, said Nguyen Dai Vinh, director of the Hoa Vang Medical Center in the eponymous district.
All patients released on Wednesday no longer suffered from fever, coughing, and shortness of breath and had tested negative for the coronavirus three to five times since receiving treatment, the hospital said.
One-hundred and five cases remained under treatment at the Hoa Vang Field Hospital as of Wednesday evening.
A total of 135 people have been discharged from the infirmary since it was launched in early August.
Vietnam has recorded 1,034 coronavirus patients, with 632 recoveries and 30 deaths as of Thursday afternoon.
