-- Authorities in An Giang Province, southern Vietnam are verifying a one-minute video showing five elementary school girls smoking in the schoolyard. The video has circulated on social media over the past few days.

-- Traffic police in Quang Nam Province, central Vietnam have worked with the owners of two high-capacity motorcycles and two foreigners regarding an incident in which a group of people were seen riding the motorcycles with both hands off the handlebars.

-- The express boat service from Con Dao Island off the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau to Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday and the service in the opposite direction on Wednesday will be suspended due to unfavorable weather conditions, the service provider announced on Monday.

-- High tides caused flooding in My Tho City, Tien Giang Province, southern Vietnam on Monday, according to the provincial hydro-meteorological station.

Business

-- National carrier Vietnam Airlines on Monday announced its 2024 audited business results, with a profit of nearly VND8 trillion (US$312.3 million), the highest level in the airline's history.

-- The tourism sector in Khanh Hoa Province, south-central Vietnam had a strong performance in the first quarter of 2025, welcoming over 2.5 million visitors and generating nearly VND13.85 trillion ($542.3 million) in revenue.

-- The administration in Bac Ninh Province, northern Vietnam on Monday awarded investment registration certificates to 23 businesses with total registered capital of nearly $1.1 billion, and one business which seeks to increase its investment by $260 million.

-- India has always been a promising international market for tourism in Phu Quoc, an island city off the coast of Kien Giang Province in southern Vietnam. Kien Giang welcomed around 5,000 Indian visitors in the first two months of 2025, a local official said at a meeting with the Global Trade and Technology Council of India on Monday.

-- Vietnam Airlines launched a new direct flight connecting Thailand’s Bangkok and Vietnam’s Da Nang at Suvarnabhumi International Airport on Sunday, the Vietnam News Agency reported.

Education

-- Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Monday had a meeting in Hanoi with representatives of 21 prestigious U.S. universities participating in the 2025 International Academic Partnership Program in Vietnam.
