— Vietnam’s tally of COVID-19 stands at 1,397 patients on Monday morning, with 1,241 recoveries and 35 virus-related deaths, according to the Ministry of Health.

— A strong cold front is forecast to envelop northern Vietnam from Monday with frost likely to occur in some mountainous regions, according to the National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting.

— Police in Lak District, located in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak, on Sunday said that they had collaborated with competent agencies to successfully handle 180 explosive shells at a local household’s coffee field, which used to be part of an airfield in wartime.

— The Ministry of Public Security said on Sunday that its investigation unit has started legal proceedings against 14 people involved in the violations in the second phase of a project to expand the production capacity of the state-owned Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel Company (TISCO).

— Police in Dau Tieng District, located in southern Binh Duong Province, in coordination with officers in southern Binh Phuoc and Tay Ninh Provinces, are expanding an investigation into a case of inter-provincial motorbike theft using cars, after arresting three suspects and seizing two cars and several valuable items.

— Nearly 2,000 officials, cadres, youths, and public security officers joined the annual 13th Red Sunday, a voluntary blood donation drive, in the north-central province of Thanh Hoa on Sunday, according to the Vietnam News Agency.


— A new report by Asia Society Australia and The Australian APEC Study Center showed that Vietnam is a perfect economic partner of Australia.


— Vietnamese drama film 'Mat Biec' (Dreamy Eyes) has been chosen as a nominee for the qualifying round of the 93rd Oscars Academy Awards, said the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. The film will compete in the Best International Film category.
