Officers in District 8, Ho Chi Minh City have launched an investigation after the head of Binh Tan District’s bureau for civil judgment enforcement fell to his death from the eighth floor of an apartment building on Monday afternoon.

Residents at the Carina Plaza apartments in Ward 16, District 8 found out about a man falling to the ground of a common passage at about 1:45 pm on Monday.

As the victim died, the residents reported the incident to local police.

District 8 police officers quickly arrived at the venue to examine the scene.

Preliminary results of the investigation showed that the victim was Do Huy Du, born in 1978.

Du was head of Binh Tan District’s bureau for civil judgment enforcement.

The case is still under investigation.
