COVID-19 Updates

-- Vietnam’s Ministry of Health documented 27,311 COVID-19 cases on Saturday, raising the national tally to 2,484,481, with 2,218,939 recoveries and 38,402 deaths.


-- Viet Glory Co. Ltd. based in north-central Nghe An Province has agreed to increase the basic salary of all employees by six percent and provide seniority allowances to those who have worked for over a year after above 5,000 workers staged a stoppage at the firm last week.

-- Authorities in Hanoi have decided to resume the operation of 121 bus routes without any limitations to their capacity as all locales in the capital are now at either low or medium risk of COVID-19 transmission.

-- A cold spell is expected to lower temperatures in northern Vietnam to 11-14 degrees Celsius and below six degrees Celsius on high mountains on Sunday, according to the National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting.

-- Thousands of people flocked to the iconic Dragon Bridge in central Da Nang City on Saturday to witness the popular fire and water performance after the show was suspended for months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

-- Tourists have discovered multiple cracks at the Rong May glass bridge in northern Lai Chau Province, but the manager of the tourist site stated that the cracks were just an effect meant to enhance the thrills for visitors.


-- Prices of roses in Ho Chi Minh City have surged by four to seven times compared to normal days as Valentine’s Day is near, with many florists attributing the increase to low supply.

-- A 900-meter cable car route to Sam Mountain in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang was officially inaugurated on Saturday after five years of construction and a one-year test run.
