Three firefighting police officers passed away while attempting to put out a conflagration at a five-story karaoke parlor in Cau Giay District, Hanoi on Monday afternoon.
The fatalities have been identified as Dang Anh Quan, leader of the fire prevention and control team of the Cau Giay public security division, Do Duc Viet, and Nguyen Dinh Phuc.
Their bodies have been taken to Hospital 19-8 under the Ministry of Public Security.

State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc extended his deepest condolences to the People’s Police force and families of the three firefighters afterward.
The three firefighters were reportedly trapped inside the burning karaoke parlor at 231 Quan Hoa Street after a fire broke out on the top floor of the five-story facility at around 1:00 pm on Monday.
The parlor has been temporarily closed for repairs.

Hundreds of officers, dozens of firefighters, ladder trucks, and water trucks were dispatched to the scene shortly after.
Deputy Minister of Public Security Nguyen Van Long also arrived at the scene to direct the firefighting, search, and rescue efforts.
A section of Quan Hoa Street was closed off as firefighters were trying to put out the blaze.

The fire was completely extinguished by 9:20 pm the same day, and firefighters and fire trucks were withdrawn.
An investigation has been launched into the tragedy.
