15 saved from apartment fire in Hanoi

Firefighters were able to rescue 15 people after a fire broke out at an apartment building in Hanoi on Sunday evening.
The fire started on the seventh floor of NOCT Apartment Building on Nguyen Co Thach Street in Nam Tu Liem District at around 8:00 pm.
After being notified, the fire prevention and fighting police units of Nam Tu Liem and Bac Tu Liem Districts sent three fire engines and dozens of firefighters to the location to put out the fire.

The officers used ladder trucks to extinguish the flames while another team headed to the seventh floor by stairs to assist the victims.
Although the fire was not too big, it caused a lot of smoke.
Firefighting police managed to rescue seven people from the blaze and guide eight others to safety.

The fire was put out at around 8:20 pm the same day.
There were no casualties in the fire, while property damage was negligible, local authorities stated, adding that they were working to determine the cause of the incident.
Preliminary information showed that the flames started from an electric meter box on the seventh floor of the building.
