Heavy downpours are expected to return to northern Vietnam on Thursday night following several days of low rainfall in the region, according to the National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting.
From Thursday night to Saturday, torrential rains of up to 200 millimeters accompanied by thunderstorms will batter mountainous localities in northern Vietnam.
Other provinces in the region will be dampened by showers, with heavy rains expected to occur in some small areas.
It has been sunny with low rainfall in northern provinces over the past couple of days.
The hot weather will linger in these localities on Thursday morning and afternoon, with highs of up to 34 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, rains are forecast for south-central, southern, and Central Highlands provinces on Thursday evening.
These rains may be accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, gusts, and whirlwinds.
The weather pattern is expected to last for many more days.
Thursday’s temperatures will range from 24 to 34 degrees Celsius in central Vietnam, and from 23 to 33 degrees Celsius in southern localities.
The UV Index will remain high across the country on Thursday and Friday.
