Two people were killed and 13 others were wounded when a sleeper bus crashed into a truck in Thua Thien-Hue Province, north-central Vietnam on Wednesday night.

Preliminary information showed that the accident took place in Huong Tho Commune, Hue City, Thua Thien-Hue Province at around 11:00 pm on Wednesday, the provincial Department of Public Security confirmed on Thursday morning.

A truck driven by 39-year-old Nguyen Anh Hao was traveling along a local road when it hit a sleeper bus being driven by 49-year-old Nguyen Ha Tan Thien, which was running in the opposite direction.

The collision killed two people, one of whom was on the bus and other on the truck.

Thirteen people, including 12 on the sleeper bus and one on the truck, were injured.

Both vehicles were heavily damaged in the crash.

Competent authorities are working to determine the cause of the accident.
