Police in Thua Thien-Hue Province, north-central Vietnam have broken up a large-scaled drug ring and confiscated five kilograms of narcotics along with a gun and bullets.
Officers under the provincial Department of Public Security confirmed on Saturday they had busted the illegal racket and arrested three suspects, namely Nguyen Van Vui, 23, Nguyen Thanh Tuan, 33, and Nguyen Thi Dung, 27.
Preliminary information showed that police caught Vui red-handed possessing 1,000 pills of ecstasy weighing more than 430 grams on Friday afternoon.

Officers went on to search the houses of Tuan and Dung and detected 30,446 pills of meth, 1.32 kilograms of ketamine, 63 pills of ecstasy, a revolver, 40 bullets, and two knives.
The narcotics confiscated from Vui, Tuan, and Dung weighed to total of nearly five kilograms.
At the police station, the suspects stated that they had bought the stimulant in north-central Quang Tri Province in order to resell them in Thua Thien-Hue Province.
Among the ring members, Tuan was previously convicted of the illegal possession of narcotics and finished serving his prison term in late January this year.
