The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports has submitted a report to the municipal People’s Committee regarding the organization of two countdown events and art light decorations on the streets in the downtown area to welcome the 2023 New Year.

The countdown events, which are annually organized by the city administration to usher in the new year, are set to take place in the Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Zone and on the section of Le Duan Street from Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street to Pasteur Street. 

They will start at 17:30 on December 31 and last until 0:30 on January 1, 2023.

From 0:00 to 0:15 on January 1, 2023, there will be fireworks displays that are planned for Thu Duc City and District 11 and are pending the prime minister’s approval.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports’ report also involves the installation of art light decorations on the streets, which will be implemented by VINAMA Communications Joint Stock Company on the section of Le Duan Street from Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street to Nguyen Binh Khiem Street, the section of Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street from Vo Thi Sau Street to Le Loi Street, and the section of Ton Duc Thang Street from Ham Nghi Street to the Thu Thiem 2 Bridge.

Prowtech International Vina Joint Stock Company will decorate the section of Le Loi Street from Quach Thi Trang Roundabout to Nguyen Hue Street, and the section of Dong Khoi Street from Nguyen Du Street to Ton Duc Thang Street.

Vien Tien Telecommunications Technology Co. Ltd. will install art lights on the section of Nguyen Hue Street from Le Loi Street to Ton Duc Thang Street.
