Police in northern Vietnam have broken up a transnational drug ring and confiscated a large amount of narcotics and weapons.
The Department of Public Security of Dien Bien Province confirmed on Friday that it had coordinated with the anti-drug police division of the Ministry of Public Security and police in northern Laos in order to break up the drug racket, which smuggled drugs from Laos into Vietnam.
They identified 15 suspects in the case, who hail from the Vietnamese provinces of Dien Bien and Lai Chau and the Lao provinces of Oudomxay and Phongsaly.
