Police in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City on Friday fined a supercar dealer for illegally occupying the entire sidewalk section in front of their showroom to exhibit their collection of exotic automobiles.
As part of an urban order campaign, a task force on duty discovered K-SUPER, a dealer specializing in supercars, showcasing six vehicles on the sidewalk of 6 Tran Hung Dao Street in Pham Ngu Lao Ward, District 1 on Friday morning.
The sidewalk was completely taken up by these supercars, depriving pedestrians of their space.
As a result, the task force documented the incident and imposed penalties on the representative of K-SUPER for unlawfully parking vehicles on the sidewalk.
Typically, this infraction incurs a fine ranging from VND800,000 (US$34) to VND1 million ($43).
The officers required that the store refrain from committing the violation again.
On the same morning, the task force encountered and addressed eight additional instances of unauthorized sidewalk parking on Nguyen Hue Street.
As part of the ongoing campaign, officers have been assigned to rotating shifts, patrolling daily from 8:00 am to 11:00 pm until the end of the year.
The working groups will concentrate their patrols on roads and areas prone to robberies and pickpocketing, as well as areas that are popular among pedestrians such as Nguyen Hue Street, Bui Vien Street, and Bach Dang Wharf Park.
