Saigon Water Corporation (Sawaco), Ho Chi Minh City’s water supplier, will cut or reduce its services in some districts in the south of the city and several wards in Thu Duc City this weekend for system maintenance.

The maintenance of the Thu Duc B.O.O. Water Plant electrical cabinet system will take place between 11:00 pm on Saturday and 2:00 am on Sunday, the company said.

During this period, there will be no water from the taps in the entirety of Nha Be District, Can Gio District, Wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, and 9 of District 8, and District 7 (except Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone).

Water supply in Binh Hung Commune of Binh Chanh District will be interrupted while Phong Phu Commune in the same district will experience low water pressure.

In addition to the mentioned southern districts of the city, An Phu, An Khanh, Thu Thiem, An Loi Dong, Phuoc Binh, Phuoc Long A, Phuoc Long B, and Tang Nhon Phu B Wards, as well as the High-Tech Park in Thu Duc will also be affected.

Sawaco noted that residents of the affected areas might expect no or low-pressure water after the anticipated three-hour disruption because of hydraulic disturbance during the repair process.

The supplier said it has instructed its affiliated units to manage the water supply network to minimize any inconvenience for residents.

The firm added that it will arrange tank trucks to ensure water supply for key areas such as hospitals and schools during the outage.
