The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport will restrict or bar vehicles from entering multiple downtown streets this weekend for the organization of the 2023 Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon.
Traffic will be banned from the section of Nguyen Binh Khiem Street bounded by Nguyen Huu Canh and Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Streets and the section of Le Duan Street between Nguyen Binh Khiem and Dinh Tien Hoang Streets in District 1 from 7:00 am on Saturday to 1:00 pm the next day.
Commuters can take the following alternative routes:
Route 1: Nguyen Binh Khiem Street → Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street → Mac Dinh Chi Street, or Dinh Tien Hoang Street → Le Duan Street.
Route 2: Le Duan Street → Dinh Tien Hoang Street → Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street → Nguyen Binh Khiem Street.
Route 3: Le Duan Street → Ton Duc Thang Street → Nguyen Huu Canh Street.
The section of Vo Van Kiet Boulevard from Cao Van Lau Street to the Saigon River Tunnel will be closed to two-wheeled vehicles between 3:30 am and 6:30 am on Sunday.
Vehicles can take the alternative route starting from Vo Van Kiet Avenue through Pham Dinh Ho, Thap Muoi, Hai Thuong Lan Ong, Chau Van Liem, Hong Bang, An Duong Vuong and Nguyen Van Cu Streets to Tran Hung Dao Street.
Individuals and organizations that need to travel to and from the affected areas during the above limited time frames are recommended to contact the municipal Department of Tourism at 140 Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street in District 3, or via the phone number 028 3824 2903 for support.
The sixth edition of the annual Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon is set to kick off on Sunday, drawing over 15,000 local and international runners.
