Concerns about the safety of the glass bridge at Love Valley, a renowned tourist destination in Da Lat City, have surged following the circulation of several video clips showing throngs of tourists crowding onto it.
The clips showing hundreds of people jostling to cross the Ngan Thong glass bridge at Love Valley surfaced on social media on Wednesday.
The first glass bridge in the Central Highlands, the Ngan Thong glass bridge, spanning 325 meters, offers a one-way route from Mong Mo Hill to Love Valley.
It features a three-meter-wide bridge surface made of five-layer tempered glass, nearly four centimeters thick.
The bridge incorporates 7D technology, providing visual and sound effects to enhance the visitor experience.
As many people have raised questions over visitor safety in the video clips, Dinh Tuan Anh, director of Love Valley, on Thursday reassured the public that safety measures were in place despite the crowded scenes.
He underscored the safety measures implemented at the tourist area's glass bridge, which include regulations such as capping the number of visitors allowed at any given time and prohibiting the opening of umbrellas while crossing.
In addition, visitors are prohibited from crossing the bridge in adverse weather conditions such as strong winds or heavy rain.

Anh clarified that the glass bridge can accommodate up to 350 people simultaneously, well within its capacity tested for safety, which exceeds 200 metric tons.
He pledged continued monitoring of safety protocols in the bridge area and adjustments to visitor flow to maintain esthetic appeal.
“The unusually large crowd on the day of the incident was due to a local discount promotion,” Anh explained.
“Such crowding is not typical.”

Anh's statement contradicts the initially advertised capacity of the Ngan Thong glass bridge, which Dang Van Thanh, chairman of Thanh Thanh Cong Group, the investor of the glass bridge project, stated to be only 200 visitors simultaneously upon its inauguration on August 19, 2023.
Before its opening, load testing involved continuously pumping 50 metric tons of water into giant bags placed on the bridge.
Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper reached out to the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Lam Dong Province for safety management inquiries regarding this glass structure, but there has been no response.
