Saigon Water Corporation (Sawaco), the water supplier in Ho Chi Minh City, on Friday announced that this weekend, certain areas in Tan Phu District, District 11, and Tan Binh District will experience weak water pressure for 24 hours due to survey, repair, and installation operations.

As pumping ceases at the Tan Phu Water Plant, located at 33 Che Lan Vien Street in Tay Thanh Ward, Tan Phu District, parts of Wards 10, 12, 13, and 14 in Tan Binh District, entire Tay Thanh, Tan Thanh, and Hoa Thanh Wards in Tan Phu District, and all of Ward 1, along with several places of Wards 3 and 10 in District 11 will be affected.

The disruption period will span from 10:00 pm on Saturday to 10:00 pm on Sunday.

Sawaco clarified that the weak water pressure will arise during a survey and repair operation on the DN1000 steel clean water pipe leak, and the installation of an additional clean water pump at Pumping Station 2 in the Tan Phu Water Plant.

Sawaco will temporarily suspend pumping clean water into the network from the Tan Phu Water Plant and simultaneously regulate the network to minimize water supply disruptions in affected areas. 

Due to the unique conditions of the water supply area, the restoration of normal water pumping operations in some distant locations may take longer than the main timeline.

Sawaco has instructed its affiliated units to regulate the water supply network to ensure residents have access to water in the affected areas. 

Additionally, they will increase water delivery via tanker trucks to vital locations.
