Firefighters managed to rescue more than 50 people from a four-story building in Hanoi after a fire broke out in this facility on Friday night, the municipal police agency announced on Saturday.
At around 10:15 pm on Friday, the city’s police were notified of the fire in the building, which is located at 1174 Lang Street in Dong Da District and offers billiards, fitness, and game services.
Firefighters and five fire trucks were dispatched to the scene, where the forces discovered that the fire emanated from the electrical cabinet area in a gym’s reception area on the second floor.
The forces swiftly approached the third and the fourth floors to rescue lots of people trapped there.
The victims were instructed to wear breathing apparatuses and gas masks before rushing to the rooftop to escape the smoke-filled areas.
Rescuers managed to evacuate more than 50 people, the police agency confirmed.
The fire was completely put out at 10:36 pm. It caused no human damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
