Traffic police in Ho Chi Minh City have booked a man for driving a vehicle fitted with flashing lights that may dazzle other road users.
After a video had gone viral on social media, showing a vehicle equipped with flashing headlights traveling on a local street and affecting commuters, traffic police officers started to track the vehicle and its driver to impose sanctions on the offender, an officer said on Tuesday.
The video displays a car running on National Highway 22 in Trung Chanh Commune under Hoc Mon District, featuring the glare of its headlights.

The vehicle was identified as a pickup truck, owned by D.V.H., a 37-year-old resident of Cu Chi District.
H. admitted to traffic police that he had bought a light system and fitted it onto the front end of his vehicle to decorate it.
He explained that he did not intend to turn on the lights when driving on the street.
However, H. handed over his vehicle to N.M.V., 30, who resides in Hoc Mon District, at 4:00 pm on May 15. V. returned the vehicle to H. at 7:00 pm the same day, H. confessed.
After being summoned to the police station, V. admitted that he borrowed the vehicle from H., and turned on the lights while driving it.
He quickly switched it off due to its glare, he said, adding that he unintentionally turned on the lights.
V. was booked for driving a vehicle illegally fitted with extra headlights.
As per the current traffic law, V. shall be fined VND1 - 2 million (US$39.3 - $78.6) and have his driver's license revoked for up to three months.
H. said that he had detached the light system from his vehicle after the video surfaced on social media and he realized that attaching extra lights to a car is unlawful.
