A screenshot from a video shows a man using the handrails and ceiling bars to perform gymnastic moves and pull-ups on metro line No. 1 in Ho Chi Minh City.

The Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway No. 1 Company Limited (HURC1) has urged passengers to follow regulations and behave appropriately on metro line No. 1 after a video showing a young man doing pull-ups on the train went viral.

In the video, the young man was seen using the handrails and ceiling bars on a train of metro line No. 1, which runs between Ben Thanh Station in District 1 and Suoi Tien Coach Station in Thu Duc City, to perform gymnastic movements and pull-ups, while many passengers were seated below.

This behavior, which occurred on Friday, upset many, as it was considered uncivilized and disruptive to other passengers.

A representative of HURC1, the operator of the metro line, condemned the action, stating that it was inappropriate, posed a safety risk, could damage property, and disrupted the comfort of others.

Handrails are intended to help passengers maintain balance, not for exercising or performing stunts.

HURC1 also noted that while security guards are present on trains and at stations, some incidents may go undetected during peak hours.

The company is calling for passengers to comply with regulations and help foster a safe, civilized metro culture.
