News on a woman frequently dining at luxury hotel restaurants in Hanoi without paying went viral on social media on Tuesday.

The latest incident unfolded at a restaurant in a 5-star hotel located in Cong Vi Ward, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi, according to M.S., the restaurant manager.

The woman entered the restaurant, requested the menu, and ordered a few premium dishes such as Wagyu beef, a lobster, German wine, and fruit, accumulating a total bill of nearly VND11 million (US$432).

“Elegantly dressed, she spoke politely when she arrived,” shared S.

However, as the restaurant was closing and requesting payment, the diner did not pay and stated that she had not brought any personal identification, displaying naive behavior.

The restaurant manager tried to converse with her before eventually contacting police for assistance, but the woman remained uncooperative, behaving erratically, and was ultimately allowed to leave without paying.

A police commander of Cong Vi Ward, Ba Dinh District confirmed the incident, stating that upon police intervention, witnesses determined that the woman exhibited 'abnormal behavior.'

Police concluded that the woman had a history of dining out without settling her bills.

“The restaurant did not press charges, and the woman left the premises,” added the police commander.
