High tides exceeding 1.65 meters, combined with heavy rain, flooded many sections of Tran Xuan Soan Street in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City on Saturday afternoon, hindering both trade and travel.

Starting at 5:00 pm on Friday, the water in the Te Canal overflowed its banks, flooding Tran Xuan Soan Street.

High tide during rush hour created significant travel difficulties for commuters.

Many motorbikes suffered engine damage from the flooding while some cars were forced to navigate detours due to the combination of floodwaters and traffic jams.

Notably, the section near the Tan Thuan 2 Bridge was submerged to over half the wheel height, exacerbating local traffic congestion.
