A storm or a tropical depression is expected to form in the East Vietnam Sea between October 23 and 25, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.
The center forecast that an intertropical convergence zone will form in the East Vietnam Sea between October 21 and 22.
In the zone, tropical cyclones may take shape.
Meanwhile, the northern region's mainland is expected to experience two cold fronts with the first one starting from Saturday and the second one starting from October 22.
From October 23 to 24, moderate to heavy rains may lash the southern region, accompanied by thunderstorms.
The national weather forecast agency also predicted that tides in coastal regions in the southeastern region will remain high until October 22.
High tides at dawn and at dusk will increase the risk of flooding in low-lying areas, coastal and riverside areas.
