3 dead as overturned truck crushes motorbike in Vietnam

A truck carrying wood chips overturned in the center of Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province, south-central Vietnam, crushing three people on a motorbike and killing them instantly on Sunday morning.
According to witnesses, the accident happened around 10:00 am at a roundabout in Quang Trung Ward, Quy Nhon City.
The three victims included two children and their uncle.

At the scene, wood chips were scattered on the street and sidewalk, while the front of the truck was damaged. The motorbike was crushed and destroyed.

Informed of the crash, local authorities rushed to the scene.
Pham Anh Tuan, chairman of the People’s Committee of Binh Dinh Province, said the authorities are looking into the cause of the accident, noting many different trucks and coaches pass through Quy Nhon so all drivers are required to stay vigilant at all times.

The province will seek appropriate solutions, probably adjusting time durations during which certain vehicles are allowed to pass through the heart of Quy Nhon, to ensure the safety of residents, the official added.
