A strong cold front is forecast to sweep the north of Vietnam on Thursday before spreading to the central region.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, northern Vietnam may experience chilly weather from Thursday onward, with temperatures expected to drop as low as 5°C in mountainous areas.

Temperatures in Hanoi are expected to range from 10 to 13°C, while the northern highlands could see mercury as low as 6-9°C, with some mountainous areas dropping below 5°C.
In central provinces like Quang Binh and Thua Thien-Hue, temperatures may drop to 15-18°C.
By Friday, the cold air may intensify further, accompanied by strong northeasterly winds in the Gulf of Tonkin, originating from the middle part of the East Vietnam Sea, hitting along the coast from Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa Provinces. This will create rough seas with waves estimated up to six meters high.
Rain and thunderstorms are predicted in the central provinces from Ha Tinh to Binh Dinh, with localized downpours that may cause flash floods, landslides, and flooding in low-lying and hilly areas.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is urging local authorities to implement precautionary measures, such as protecting livestock, securing crops, and ensuring the safety of residents.
For coastal provinces, an alert is set for fishermen and vessel operators about hazardous sea conditions and how to maintain communication and respond to emergencies effectively.
Residents are encouraged to avoid coal stoves in enclosed spaces to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.
Farmers should strengthen animal shelters and stockpile adequate food supplies for livestock.
