A pre-wedding photo shoot styled like the 1970s in northern Vietnam has gone viral on Vietnamese social media.
In the pre-wedding photo shoot, the bride wore a vintage wedding dress, held a bouquet of gladiolus flowers, and put on a traditional wedding hat.
Tran Kieu Oanh, born in 1987 and currently working as a literature teacher and part-time aestheticist in Bac Giang Province, northern Vietnam, confirmed to Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper that she is the bride in the pre-wedding photo shoot.
The photos were taken last month, one week before Oanh’s wedding day.

Oanh shared that she had been fond of the idea for a long time and had always been impressed by vintage-style photos.
“I always thought I would have a photo shoot like that if I got married,” Oanh said.
According to Oanh, marriage is a lifelong commitment. However, nowadays, everyone has a strong ego, and some marriages only last a few years.
In contrast, couples in the past stayed together until old age despite their ups and downs.
Oanh believes that no one is born perfect for someone else -- it is all about learning to accept each other.

Since meeting her present husband, Oanh has changed her mind and decided to marry after many years of being alone.
That is also why she wanted an old-style wedding photo shoot in the hope that regardless of circumstances, people will always cherish love and understand happiness.
Oanh and her husband asked nearby studios to make their idea a reality, but many said it would be too difficult.
Oanh later happened to find a photographer in Ninh Binh Province, also in the north, who had posted a similar photo shoot for a wedding anniversary on social media.
Therefore, the couple decided to travel 200 kilometers from Bac Giang to Ninh Binh for their pre-wedding photos.

Oanh noted that clothes and props were prepared according to her request. The most challenging part was finding extras for the shoot.
"Fortunately, the photographer’s team helped me execute everything smoothly. We finished the photo shoot in one day. Everyone was very cooperative," Oanh recalled.
“Although we met for the first time, I felt like we had known each other for a long time.
"In the photos, I even invited my younger sister and niece to participate. The other two children were the studio owner's children.
"Everyone enjoyed the photo shoot,"
Nguyen Tien Dung, born in 1989, Oanh's husband, stated that they lived 20 kilometers apart, and he is two years younger than her.
They met by chance and developed feelings for each other after going on several hikes together. Over time, they talked more and realized that they understood each other.
“This made her change her mind from never wanting to marry, liking freedom and adventure, to wanting to settle down with a family,” Dung said.

Oanh added that after just a few meetings, they felt an instant connection, as if they had known each other for years.
Five months into their relationship, they decided to get married.
Through their photo shoot, they aimed to capture the essence of traditional weddings -- simple yet meaningful, formal yet deeply sincere.
In the past, despite life's challenges, couples remained devoted to each other into old age -- something younger generations may struggle to achieve.
Dung and Oanh hope to learn patience and acceptance from those who came before them.
