FIFA Women’s World Cup trophy set to arrive in Vietnam in 2 weeks

The trophy of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup will make its stop in Vietnam on March 4 and 5, as part of the promotional series for the tournament, scheduled to be held in Australia and New Zealand later this year.

The trophy tour, which will include more countries than ever before, will spend time in all the 32 participating nations in the elite tournament slated for this July and August.

Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Morocco, Ireland, Switzerland, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Zambia will receive the hardware for the first time ever.

Before stopping in Vietnam, it will first go to Japan on February 25 and 26, followed by a one-day pit stop in South Korea on February 27 and two days in the Philippines on March 2 and 3.

Wellington in New Zealand is slated to be the trophy’s last stop on July 12-14 before the competition.

The trophy tour also includes visits to three other countries, whose qualification for the Women’s World Cup will be decided at a play-off tournament later this month. The dates will be added afterward.

The Vietnamese women’s football team are currently in intensive preparation for their maiden stint in the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Vietnam are in Group E with the U.S., the Netherlands, and the as-yet-unknown winners of the play-off among Thailand, Cameroon, and Portugal.

All games in the group will be organized in New Zealand.

According to the schedule, Vietnam take on the U.S. in Auckland on July 22, the play-off winners in Hamilton on July 27, and the Netherlands in Dunedin on August 1.
