FIFA, which is the abbreviation for the Federation Internationale de Football Association in French, will provide the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) with two vehicles equipped with the Video Assistant Referee technology (VAR) to help the latter perfect the VAR system at professional football matches.
Kenny Jean-Marie, FIFA’s director of member associations, made the statement during a meeting with VFF president Tran Quoc Tuan on Friday, on the sidelines of the FIFA Women's Football Convention, which took place in Sydney, Australia on the same day.
The VFF currently has two VAR vehicles to serve national and international football matches taking place in Vietnam.
Marie said that FIFA praised the VFF for its strong investment in the Vietnamese women’s football team, resulting in the team’s first participation in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
FIFA pledges to continue its support to drive Vietnam’s women football development, heading for winning a ticket to the next Women’s World Cup.

On the sidelines of the football convention, which will wrap up on Saturday, Tuan held talks with Pascale Van Damme, president of the Royal Belgian Football Association; Just Spee, president of the Royal Netherlands Football; and Heike Ullrich, secretary general of the German Football Association, on Friday.
The three leaders congratulated Vietnam on its remarkable achievements in football over the past few years.
They said that the Vietnamese football team’s performances at the FIFA Women’s World Cup left them with a strong impression of each player’s will and dedication to matches.
The VFF president arrived in Sydney on Wednesday to sit in on the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup final between Spain and England slated for Sunday and the FIFA Women's Football Convention.
