The opening ceremony for the 10th Dalat Flower Festival 2024 was held at Lam Vien Square in Da Lat on Thursday evening.

Giving the opening remarks, chairman of the administration in Lam Dong Province Tran Hong Thai revealed the festival’s theme as 'Da Lat Flowers - A Symphony of Colors' and shared that it will be held across the province until December 31. 

The festival will showcase world-class cultural and artistic events celebrating Da Lat's flower industry and the cultural heritage of Lam Dong residents.

The official said that Da Lat's flowers not only contribute economically to the region but also symbolize the resilience and unity of the Central Highlands' 47 ethnic minority groups.

During the opening ceremony, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh congratulated Lam Dong Province on its achievements over the past several years.

He said the province had successfully held nine Dalat Flower Festivals over the past two decades, making the festival a national cultural and tourism event.

The deputy prime minister shared expectations that Da Lat will welcome its 10 millionth tourist next year, cementing its world-class tourism branding.

This is a festival celebrating the people of Lam Dong Province and an opportunity for local and foreign tourists to experience cultural values and tourism services in the province, contributing to boosting the development of the agricultural economy in association with tourism, heritage preservation, and environment protection, Binh noted.

He voiced his hope that Lam Dong Province continues to effectively exploit its tourism potential and strengths while preserving cultural values to become a model of green and sustainable development.

The opening ceremony for the 10th Dalat Flower Festival 2024 attracted over 15,000 residents and tourists.

The ceremony gathered many well-known domestic and international artists, such as singers Ho Ngoc Ha, Ho Quynh Huong, Van Mai Huong, Ho Trung Dung and Nguyen Ngoc Anh, music group The Wings, rapper Ram C, and South Korean violinist Jmi Ko.

The ceromy’s art program featured depictions of the beauty of flowers and florists.

Da Lat is expected to welcome some two million visitors during the festival.
