Over 1,000 tourists from India have traveled to Tien Giang Province, southern Vietnam, for sightseeing, cultural and culinary experiences, according to the Tien Giang Tourism Development Center.
This is the largest group of tourists the center has welcomed this year, Nguyen Vu Khanh, director of the center, said on Saturday.
These tourists come from India's leading pharmaceutical company JB Pharma.
The international tourists explored multiple unique and fascinating destinations in the province and neighboring localities on Wednesday and Thursday.
They took a boat ride to Thoi Son Islet, nestled along the Tien River, and enjoyed tea made with honey.
Besides, they were transported by electric vehicles along village roads to some fruit gardens and treated to ‘don ca tai tu' (southern folk music) performances.
Going on a boat tour, these tourists admired the natural beauty of river branches and canals in the Mekong Delta, as well as toured a coconut candy processing facility at Con Phung, located on a floating island in the middle of the Tien River in Chau Thanh District under Ben Tre Province.

The group was also taken to Vinh Trang Pagoda in Tien Giang Province’s My Tho City, some 70 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City. The pagoda, known for its stunning and distinctive architecture, is one of the oldest in the southern region.
The number of international tourist arrivals in the province has soared by 20 percent compared to the previous months, said Khanh.
The majority of the foreign visitors mainly hail from India, South Korea and Japan.
My Tho Marina in the province receives around 1,000 tourists a day, and up to 1,500 visitors on weekends.
