Many young travelers are gravitating to a beach on Phu Quoc Island off the coast of Kien Giang Province in southern Vietnam in the afternoons to take photos with the sunset and arriving or departing planes.

Phu Quoc has welcomed up to 60 flights per day over the past several days.

At around 4:00 pm every day, when the sun starts to go down, young people wearing colorful costumes crowd Cua Lap Beach in Duong To Commune to capture their moments with a reed field, the sunset, and approaching planes.

Mai Thi Hong Ngan, a tourist from An Giang Province in the Mekong Delta, said that Phu Quoc is home to multiple unspoiled beaches.

Typically, Cua Lap Beach boasts a charming reed field and soft golden sand, she said, expressing her excitement that on the beach, she could watch the sun setting and spot planes arriving at or departing from Phu Quoc International Airport.

“My friends and I feel relaxed and comfortable to sit on the sand to enjoy the fresh air, photograph ourselves, and savor tasty dishes,” Ngan shared happily.

“The sunset on Phu Quoc Island is different every day. I often arrive at the beach [Cua Lap] to watch the sunset and approaching planes. It is a wonderful experience,” said Tran Chau Ai, a resident of Go Quao District in Kien Giang Province.

Over the past several days, Phu Quoc has received 55-60 flights carrying local and international tourists per day, according to the provincial Department of Tourism.

Kien Giang is focusing on developing various tourism products and services based on its islets, beaches, rural areas, historical relics, and cultural values to delight visitors.
