Hanoi will host a spectacular light show featuring 2,025 drones to light up the iconic West Lake this weekend.
The ‘Light Music Concert - Welcome the Lunar New Year 2025’ is a unique artistic event and will combine modern lighting technology with traditional musical heritage.
It will mark the opening of the Hanoi International Light Festival 2025 and is expected to become a highly anticipated annual event.
The highlight of the event will be a mesmerizing light display created by 2,025 drones, synchronized with a live orchestra performance.
The drones, programmed to create breathtaking images, will tell stories of Hanoi’s thousand-year history and cultural heritage, immersing the audience in a creative and emotional atmosphere.
This event will also be the first large-scale use of drone light technology, showcasing a new-generation dragon drone performance that promises to deliver an unforgettable visual spectacle in Hanoi’s sky.
Le Quoc Minh, editor-in-chief of Nhan Dan (People) newspaper, said on Wednesday that the show would be not just a party of music and light, but also a way of honoring Hanoi's heritage.
Through the event, organizers expect to introduce Hanoi as a cultural and creative destination and attract domestic and international tourists to the city, to contribute to its nighttime economic growth.
Moreover, the event will spread a message of joy, unity, and hope for the new year.
Many of Vietnam’s top artists will be in attendance, including People's Artist Thanh Hoa, singer My Tam, and rapper Big Daddy.
The event, organized by the Hanoi People’s Committee, Nhan Dan newspaper, and the Tay Ho District People's Committee, will kick off at 8:00 pm on Saturday at Nguyen Hoang Ton - Lac Long Quan Intersection in Tay Ho District.
