Hanoians are flocking to a campsite in a pine forest in Ba Vi District where they can recharge their minds and bodies after the stressful work week.

The pine forest is located in the Ba Vi National Park, some 60km away from the center of Hanoi. The forest boasts spectacular scenery plus fresh air.

According to Nguyen Viet Hai from Thanh Tri District, Hanoi, putting up a tent and playing with his children at the campsite have become cherished memories.

“The campsite is amazing, with ample space and fresh air. My kids really enjoy themselves.

“They have to study hard every day, so this campsite is the perfect place for them to play after school and engage with nature,” Hai said.

For overnight camping, Hai recommended that people prepare tents to protect themselves, as well as food and drinks.

Adults should also make sure to keep their children safe from campfires and put them out immediately after use.

Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy, a resident of Hanoi’s Thach That District, also enjoys spending her weekends camping with family in Ba Vi.

“My family already has everything we need for camping trips. All we need to buy are entrance tickets for VND60,000/adult (US$2.4) and pay the cleaning fee of VND15,000 (60 U.S. cents) for each camper,” Thuy shared.

Another camper, Nguyen Ly Hai, told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper that “The pine forest is a cool campsite with fresh air and a large camping area.”

Hai, a resident of Hanoi’s My Duc District, explained that campers at Ba Vi can hire a tent from the rest stop in the national park at for VND450,000 ($18.15), along with kitchen gadgets and other camping items.

Besides camping in the pine forest, visitors to Ba Vi can check out other interesting places in the national park, including Uncle Ho temple, Bao Thien tower, and a cactus garden.

Around this time of the year, wild sunflower season is in full swing along a route leading to the pine forest.

This pine forest can be reached easily by road. Visitors can depart from central Hanoi and travel along Thang Long Avenue to Ba Vi National Park.

Alternatively, they can start in the city center and take National Highway 32 to Son Tay until they reach the national park.

Visitors can also reach Ba Vi by bus.
